**741 A.R.** //**The Battle of Altain**//. [[:npc:Emperor Bellsandhe]] is slain during this famous route of the Imperial army and his son [[npc:Tormund]] is mortally wounded in battle. Although crowned as Emperor Bellsandhe the Eighth, the newly crowned Emperor never rises from his bed and within a few days of his crowning dies while his army is still marching in retreat. Duvok I’lshandre takes over military planning for the remainder of the war.

**743 A.R.** After much debate, Duvok I’lshandre is crowned [[:npc:Emperor I’lshandre The First]]. By Imperial decree the Empire is renamed the Empire of [[:Ekandor:Ilshandre:Ilshandre]]. A peace treaty is signed with[[:npc: King Aruc The Third]] of Melistrande and the new Emperor quickly sets to establishing a firm power base for himself.

**755 A.R.** Emperor I’lshandre the First dies from sickness peacefully in bed. He passes power to his second son, who becomes Emperor I’lshandre The Second.

**763 A.R.** Emperor I’lshandre The Second is injured in a riding accident while hunting. He dies that night leaving his only heir, his daughter, to become Empress I’lshandre The Third. 

**778 A.R.** //**Year of the Broken Sighs**// The Empress decrees that the territories lost during the Insurrection to the Kingdom of [[:ekandor:Melistrande]] is a slight to the Empire and must be remedied. The Imperial armies are gathered and war is started as they march to restore the city of [[:Ekandor:Ilshandre:Karast]] and surrounding lands back to the Empire.

**797 A.R.** [[:npc:Empress I’lshandre The Third]] dies. Her third son and only surviving heir becomes [[:npc:Emperor I’lshandre The Fourth]].

**817 A.R** Attempt on [[:npc:Emperor I’lshandre The Fourth]]'s life.
