The single large mountain is home to the mountain dwarf stronghold of Belrum. The rolling hillsides between the mountain and the coast are home to a separate tribe of hill dwarves, culminating in the port capital of Khalboram. The two clans of dwarves have an amicable relationship and robust trade agreements. The marshy swamps west of the mountains are home to a horde of orcs who forage out from their central base of Ghel Makkar. The encroaching grey wastes have been driving the orcs more and more towards the humans and dwarves to the east, leading to escalating violence and tension. South and southeast of the large mountain are some smaller mountains which nestle an idyllic valley and a couple of serene lakes between them.

The Edgegrave Forest is an enchanted wood patrolled by the fey. It is said that an ancient elvish stronghold, Belan Alora, once presided over much of this land. It is also said that a greedy prince's deal with the fey turned sour, and now few dare venture beneath the boughs of that dire wood. The forest itself is coniferous, rugged, and the land grows more frigid the farther one travels.

The land beyond the forest is frozen. The Dairkess Mountains reside in the north, where ancient elves used to say that the gods once held council as to the fate of the world. Beyond even them lie the Glacius Flats, a raised mesa of translucent ice blasted by constant wind, such that no snow ever settles, and the lights of the aurora are refracted through nearly a mile of crystal-clear ice.
